Edit Storage Lot
This Screen enables you to Add a new Storage Lot or change the information for an existing Storage Lot. It also enables you view information for a released Storage Lot. The Contents of the Lot and some misc Notes on this lot can also be seen in the Tab-Controlled Browse Box on the screen.
Lot: Enter the Lot Number which was assigned to this Lot. Most warehouses have a unique numbering system for the storage lots. This lot number can be 1 to 12 characters long. This number must be unique within each Warehouse.
If this is an existing Lot, then the lot number cannot be changed on this screen. There is a special function on the Transactions pull-down menu to change Storage Lot Numbers.
Shipper Name: Enter the name of the owner of the goods being stored in this Lot.
Sort-Locator: Enter the name of the shipper in the fashion that it would appear on a sorted listing. For individuals, this is usually Last Name, First Name. For businesses, this is usually the Business Name. If this field is blank, it will be filled in for automatically when you press the Tab Key from the Shipper Name field. Just change the field to properly represent the sorted order location.
Received: Enter the date on which this Lot was received into the Warehouse. To access a Calendar, either double left-click the mouse in this field or press the [?] button.
Lot Type: Type in the Type of Lot. The computer will match existing entries as you type. To see the current Lot Types, press the down arrow at the end of the field. To add a new Lot Type, then type in the Lot Type description and press the Tab Key
Reference: This field is for any special reference or identification concerning this shipper. This field can be searched in Reports -> Warehouse Contents Reports -> By Shipper Reference.
One common use of this field is to enter the Inventory Tag Color and Lot Number. Then, if an item is loose in your warehouse and has become removed from its normal container, a quick scan of the storage lots which have that tag color and lot number can immediately limit the possible lots to which this item can belong.
Cubic Feet: Enter the total Cubic Feet which this Lot comprises, if applicable. The total cubic feet of all lots is displayed on some of the warehouse reports.
Weight: Enter the total weight of this Lot, if applicable. The total weight of all lots is displayed on some of the warehouse reports.
[Ö] Received Damaged: Check this box if this Lot was received Damaged. This is an information field only.
[Ö] Claim Pending: Check this box if there is a claim pending on this Lot. This is an information field only.
Contents Tab: This tab displays the contents of this lot. Storage Lot Contents Tab
Notes Tab: This field is for any special notes or remarks about this shipment. This field can be searched in Reports -> Warehouse Contents Reports -> By Shipper Notes.
[ Import from Storage Manager ] This button is active under two conditions: You are inserting a new Storage Lot and you currently have the IBS Storage Manager. It will enable you to retrieve the information from a storage lot that already exists in the IBS Storage Manager and save a bit of data entry. Import From Storage Manager
[ Add ] Press this button to record this Storage Lot.
[ Save ] Press this button to save the changes to this Storage Lot.
[ Delete ] Press this button to remove this Storage Lot.
[ Cancel ] Press this button to ignore any changes which were made on this screen.
[ Print Contents ] Press this button to print a listing of this lot with its contents and locations. This can be used as a pull listing for the warehouseman.
[ Print Contents with Inventory ] Press this button to print a listing of this lot with its contents and locations. This report also includes the inventory items attached to each Storage Vault.
[ Release Lot ] Press this button to release this lot. Release Storage Lot Releasing the lot from the warehouse will deallocate the Storage Vaults and make them available for other shippers. Once released, any storage vault which was used by this lot will now appear on the List Available Storage Vaults reports.
