Tab 1 - General Container Information
This tab contains the general information about this container.
Container Number: Every item which is stored in the Warehouse must have a unique Inventory Control Number. This can be any number between 1 and 999,999,999. No two containers can have the same Inventory Control Number, but these numbers can be re-used after a Container has been removed from the Container File, even though this practice is NOT recommended.
This number should be bar-coded and placed on each Container. A batch of sequentially numbered labels can easily be produced by the optional Bar Code Generator program or by any standard label-maker program. Pre-Printed labels can be purchased and used as well.
Customer Number: This field is active only on certain screens. Enter the number of the Customer to whom this container belongs. The name of the Customer will be displayed to the right of this field. Press the [?] button to view a list of current Customers.
Container Status: Active, Destroyed or Returned. The Container File is not self-purging. Containers will remain in the Container File until they are removed by option B-G (Remove Destroyed Containers). However, Containers which have been destroyed or returned will not qualify for Monthly Storage Charges. Consequently, Active containers will be counted for the Monthly Storage Charges, and Destroyed or Returned Containers will not.
Department/Branch: The Department and Branch fields are for identification purposes only. These fields can be used to identify the specific Department and Branch of the Customer which is the owner of this record container.
NOTE - The Department/Branch fields cannot be used to create separate invoices for each Department or Branch. If this is required by your customer, you must assign to each Department or Branch which is to receive a separate invoice its own Customer Number.
Customer Container ID: The Customer Container ID Number is a control number for this container which has been assigned by the Customer. This number is an alpha-numeric number up to 20 characters long. This number might be bar coded by the customer himself.
There are two configuration switches which control the specific use of this Container ID Number. These switches are set using the fields on Tab 1 - General Customer Information .
Unique ID - If Yes, then no duplicate Container ID numbers will be allow for any Customer.
Right Justify - If Yes, then the number entered will be shifted to the right in the field. This will enable the Alpha-Numeric sort to emulate a numeric sort for the reports which are in sorted order by the Customer Container ID Number.
