Initial Setup

This window titled Initial Bank Account Setup should be used only to setup outstanding checks, adjustments, and deposits for existing bank accounts at the time you convert to using this program. It is used to set up all outstanding, uncleared entries (checks, adjustments, deposits) in the bank account file. This will bring the bank account file into balance with the reconciled bank statement as of the cutoff date for initially using this program. The balance per the bank (according to the last reconciled bank statement prior to the date you begin using this program) is entered into the Reconciled Balance field in the Bank Account Master file (Edit Bank Account option on the File Pull-Down Menu). All outstanding Checks, Deposits, and Adjustments are entered by using this Initial Setup option on the File Pull-Down Menu.

NOTE: THIS OPTION DOES NOT POST ANY FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS. THEREFORE, USE OF THIS OPTION AFTER THE PROGRAMS ARE IN USE CAN CAUSE THE GENERAL LEDGER TO BECOME OUT OF BALANCE WITH THE BANK ACCOUNT MANAGER MODULE.

Bank Number: Enter the bank number for the account you wish to setup. Press the [?] to the right of this field to open a window titled Select Bank Account which lists all the bank accounts which are currently setup in Bank Account Manager. For additional information, see Select Bank Account.

[ Show Balance ] Press this button to display the current reconciled balance. When this balance equals the reconciled balance on the cutoff bank reconciliation, then your initial set-up is complete.

For future audit purposes, you should keep this printout with your other conversion paperwork.
