Help:GL1-Compare Detail To YTD
This is one of several utility programs used by our Technical Support Staff to assist customers when their Trial Balance is out of balance or when they are unable to reconcile their subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger. This utility program will read the General Ledger Detail History file (GL1D04) for the selected Posting Month/Year and compare its balances with the General Ledger Master YTD Amounts file (GL1D02). It will display the totals for each account and any differences.
This window enables you to select the Posting Month/Year and the display options for this general ledger comparison report.
Posting Month/Year: Enter the Posting Month/Year for the comparison. The applicable Fiscal Month/Year will be displayed to the right of these fields.
Display Options: Select the accounts that you wish to display on the report, as explained below. Point your mouse cursor to the radio button for the desired option and left-click your mouse one time to select that option.
All Accounts Press this radio button if you wish to display all of the general ledger accounts for the selected Month/Year, whether used or not. This option will give you the most comprehensive analysis of these two files.
Used Accounts Only Press this radio button if you wish to display only those general ledger accounts which have an amount for the selected Month/Year.
Differing Accounts Only Press this radio button if you wish to display only those general ledger accounts which have a difference between the General Ledger Detail History file (GL1D04) and the General Ledger Master YTD Amounts file (GL1D02).
[ Begin ] Press this button to begin the selected analysis process.
[ Cancel ] Press this button to close this window and return to the previous window.
Records Read: This is an informational field only which displays the total number of records read during this operation. You cannot edit the information in this field.
Records Added: This is an informational field only which displays the total number of records added during this operation. You cannot edit the information in this field.
