File:DMCommon-Edit Export Link.PNG

Description: Enter a unique description which is used to identify this export link.

Data Location: This field displays the computer location where the .XML file will be created. Use the View [?] button to the far right of this field for a directory of your computer.

Populate With: Select (o) All Fields if you wish to create an .XML file which includes every possible field, whether or not it has any contents. Select (o) Fields with Contents only if you wish to just include those fields with contents. This produces a much smaller file, more compact file.

XML Format: There are two different .XML Formats - The new format for the new SQL system and the Old Format which is compatible with the older .TPS system. There are third-party programs which have been created to read the older format, so it has been included here for backward compatibility.

[X] Execute a Program after File Creation If you are setting up a control link to just create the .XML file, then uncheck this box. If you are running a third-party interface which will read this newly created file, then check this box and set up the parameters in the fields below.

Program Location: This field displays the computer location where the external program is located. Use the View [?] button to the far right of this field for a directory of your computer.

Program Name: Enter the name of the program to be run which is located on the computer location in the previous field.

Other Parameters: Enter any other parameters which will be added AFTER the Program & .XML file name, if any.

Program Control: Select (o) Wait for Program to finish if you want the Program being run to run completely before returning to the previous screen. Select (o) Run Program in Background if you wish to return to the previous screen before the program has finished. You would normally select (o) Wait for Program to Finish if the program called requires some data input.

[X] Run the Program in the Program's Directory Check this box if you need to be in the Program Location entered above when running the program. Some programs look for data in the directory in which they are run. Check with the specific program author to see if this program must be run in the Program's directory location.
