CRS-Rate Schedule Maintenance

The Billing rates for the various categories of charges may be taken from a Schedule. There are two different types of schedules supported by this system - the absolute tier system and the break-point system.

The absolute tier system will bill the first rate for the entire quantity of the tier, then use the next rate for the next tier's quantity, etc. The break-point system will determine the rate from tier within which the quantity falls, and then bill the entire quantity at this tier's rate. A break-point system can provide your Customers with a financial incentive to store more containers or to group together other services since the unit rate decrease as the number of units increase.

The billing rate for the Monthly Storage Charges for the containers in storage is always governed by a Rate Schedule. If you wish to have a Rate Schedule designed for a particular Customer, then the add that Customer's Number to the Rate Schedule's Header record. If you do not use such a Rate Schedule for your Monthly Storage Charges, then you must establish a Rate Schedule with only one line.

The Misc Billing Charges and the Recurring Charges can also get their Rate from a Rate Schedule. However, unlike the Monthly Storage Charges, the rates for these Misc and Recurring Billing Charges do not require a Rate Schedule. These charges can obtain their rate from the Billing Code Table or they can be directly entered with the Billing Charge entry.
