Help:BM1-Remove Journal History
This window titled Remove Historical Bank Journal Entries enables you to remove old historical entries from the various bank journals. You should keep some historical data on your system---at the least the current financial year's information. Each company must decide how long they wish to retain historical data on their system.
BEFORE you perform any purging process, you should do a complete backup of all IBS data files. If you happen to make an error in the purging process, then this backup will be the only way you will be able to restore the erroneously purged records.
Bank Number: Enter a `0' if you wish to include all bank accounts. If you wish to include only one bank account, then enter the number of that bank account. Press the [?] to the right of this field for a listing of the current bank accounts. The bank account name will be displayed to the right of this field.
Posting Month/Year Cutoff: Enter the posting month and year cutoff date. All entries with a posting month and year on or before the posting month/year entered here will be removed.
Operation: Point your mouse cursor to the radio button for the desired Operation and left-click your mouse one time to select that option. NOTE: You may select only one of these operation options.
Include All Press this button if you wish to purge all bank journals.
Adjustments Only Press this button if you wish to purge only the bank adjustments journals.
Checks Only Press this button if you wish to purge only the manual checks journals.
Deposits Only Press this button if you wish to purge only the bank deposits journals.
[ Begin ] Press this button to begin the purging operation. The status of the items purged will be displayed on the window in the boxes titled Records Read and Records Removed.
[ Cancel ] Press this button to cancel this operation without removing any journals. This button is unavailable after the [Begin] button has been pressed.
Records Read: This is an informational field only which displays the total number of records read during this operation. You cannot edit the information in this field.
Records Removed: This is an informational field only which displays the total number of records removed during this operation. You cannot edit the information in this field.
[ OK ] This button will become available after the purging operation has completed. Press this button to close this window and return to the menu.
