Report Preview

All reports in the MoverBiz system are first printed to the screen in a window titled Report Preview. This allows the user quick access to view the information in the report. It also gives the user the opportunity to choose whether or not they actually wish to print the selected report. There may be instances where the user only wishes to view the information and does not need to actually print the report.

The Report Preview window gives the user several options on how they wish to view the report on the screen. The user can choose to view one page on the screen at a time or multiple pages on the screen at a time. The user can adjust the zoom percentage to increase/decrease the size of the report on the screen. The user can select to print all, a portion, or none of the report.

The Report Preview window has three (3) pull-down menus -- File, View, and Zoom. The options on these menus are as follows:

File Pull-Down Menu:

Pages to Print This option allows the user to print a selected page or a selected range of pages from the report.

Print This option will print the report to the selected printer. If the user has set the Pages to Print, then this Print option will print the selected page(s). If the user has not set the Pages to Print, then this Print option will print ALL pages of this report.

Important: IMPORTANT NOTE: The printer must be selected before the report is in this Report Preview window. The printer cannot be changed in this Report Preview window.

Exit This option will exit the Report Preview window without printing any of the report.

View Pull-Down Menu:

Next Page(s) This option will move the report on the screen to the next page. (NOTE: If this option is not available, this means the page currently being viewed on the screen is the last page of this report and there is no next page available.)

Previous Page(s) This option will move the report on the screen to the previous page. (NOTE: If this option is not available, this means the page currently being viewed on the screen is the first page of this report and there is no previous page available.)

Jump to a page This option allows the user to quickly move from one page to another. For instance, if the report is a long report (e.g. 30 pages long), the user can use this option to quickly move the view from page 1 to page 30.

Change Display This option will change the way the report is displayed on the screen.

Zoom Pull-Down Menu: NOTE: Only one of these options can be active at a time. The active option will be denoted with a check mark.)

Tile pages This option is used if the user wishes to view multiple pages on the screen at one time. When this option is active, the user can select the number of pages to view Across and Down. Click the [ → or ←] buttons to the right of the Across box at the top of the window to select the number of pages to view Across. Press the [↑ or ↓] buttons to the right of the Down box at the top of the window to select the number of pages to view Down. (NOTE: If this option is active and the view is set for multiple pages Across and/or Down, then the user can use the mouse cursor to quickly zoom in on one specific page. Simply point your mouse cursor to the page you wish to fully view and left-click your mouse once. By doing so that particular page will now be the only page in the view window. If you left-click your mouse one more time anywhere on that page, then the view will return to the Tile Pages format.

Page Width This option is the default option. If you select this option, then only one page will be on the screen at any time. Depending on the size of your screen, you may need to use the scroll bar to the right of the window in order to view the entire page. The user can move from one page to another page by using the options under the View Pull-Down Menu or by pressing the [↑ or ↓] buttons to the right of the Page box at the top of the window.

50% Zoom -- 300% Zoom The user can use these options to increase or decrease the size of the report on the screen depending upon the size of his/her screen.

These three buttons (found at the top the Report Preview window) do the following:

Press the button with the picture of a printer to Print this report.

Press the button with the X to exit this report and close this window without printing.

Press the button with the picture of a magnifying glass if you wish to change the Zoom option.

Important: IMPORTANT NOTE: You should print all reports to laser printers (laser, deskjet, inkjet, bubblejet). Printing reports on a dot-matrix printer is not recommended because the reports will print much slower than they can be printed on a laser printer. Dot-matrix printers should be used only for printing continuous-feed checks, multi-part invoice forms, or other multi-part forms.
