Rate Schedule Maintenance

This window titled Rate Schedule Maintenance will display all of the rate schedules which have been set up on your system. This window displays the rate schedule number and description only. The actual rate tiers are accessed through the [Insert] or [Change] buttons.

A rate schedule is used by the billing charges program to find the applicable rate when that rate varies based upon the four variables of Weight, Mileage, Discount and Density. It can be called by any type of billing code and it can return any type of rate. This eliminates the necessity to have a different billing code for each of the possible rates in such a variable rate structure. One billing code can return multiple rates when used in conjunction with a rate schedule.

The IBS System will accommodate up to 999,999 different rate schedules. Each schedule can have an unlimited number of tiers, with each tier returning a different rate. These rate schedules are not Tariffs, but they might be able to be used for some simple freight tariffs when the only variables are Weight, Mileage, Discount and Density and when only a single rate is to be returned.
