Update Files in Container

This screen enables you to add, change or remove a File in this Container.


File Number: This field is used for either the specific file name or number which has been assigned by the customer for this file. It will be kept in sorted order by this field in order to provide rapid search access.

Temporary Out Date: This contains the date that this file was temporarily removed from this container. If the date is blank, then this file is still in the container. To activate a calendar, you can either double click the left mouse button while the mouse is in the date field, or you can press the [?] button to the right of this field.

File Description: Enter here the full description of this file. The File Field above is used for the rapid locating index. This field is used for the full non-indexed description of the file. This description field can be searched by using the Reports - File Reports - By Description option.

Transaction Log: This tab displays the Transaction Log for this file. The Transaction Log is automatically updated by the maintenance programs when new files are originally added. It is also automatically updated with every transaction processed either manually or by the Bar Code Reader. These are accessed through Transactions - File activity.

[ Extended File Fields ] Press this button to access the extended file fields to add or view the additional information contained on this file. This button will not be available if you are adding a new File. See Update Extended File Fields

[ Add to Pull List ] Press this button to add this file to the pull-list. This button will not be available if you are adding a new File. See Update Pull List with Files

[ Remove Extended Fields ] Press this button to remove the extended file fields. This must be done before the file can be deleted. This button will not be available if you are adding a new File.

[ Add ] Press this button to add the File entered on this screen.

[ Save ] Press this button to record the changes made to this File.

[ Delete ] Press this button to remove this File. If the Extended File Files have been used for this file, then these must be removed first.

[ Cancel ] Press this button to close this window.

[ Help ] Press this button (if available) or the F1 key to view the Help text for this window.
