Rebuild Job Cost Files

The Total Revenues and Costs for each job are kept continuously up-to-date by the various posting programs. It is remotely possible that these totals may become out-of-sync with the Job Cost Detail. This option will read the Job Cost Detail File and re-construct the Total Revenues and Costs in the Job Cost Master File. This procedure will do two things. It will first pack the Job Cost Files, that is it will remove all deleted records from the files. Next it will re-calculate the total Revenue and Costs for each job from the Job Cost Detail File.

Since this procedure requires the exclusive use of the Job Cost Files and can take a long time to complete once your Job Cost Files are large, it is recommended that this step be performed overnight when all users are off the network.

NOTE: This option requires the exclusive use of the Job Cost Files. This means that no other users may be using the Job Cost Manager (directly or indirectly from another module) while you Rebuild Job Files.
