Remove Jobs Date Started

This option allows you to remove old jobs (by date started) from the data files. It allows you to remove the Job Cost Detail only and retain the Job Cost Master File information, or it allows you to remove both.

IMPORTANT: BEFORE you perform any purging process, you should do a complete backup of all IBS data files. If you happen to make an error in the purging process, then this backup will be the only way you will be able to restore the erroneously purged records.

[ Date Started ] Enter here the cut-off date for this purging. Any job with a Date Started on or before the date entered here will be removed. This program will NOT remove any job with no Date Started. These jobs are presumed to be incomplete. NOTE: After entering a date in this field, you may use the up/down arrow buttons to move the date one day forward or backward, if needed.

[ Remove Detail Only ] If you wish to only remove the Job Cost Detail information, then place a check mark in this box. If you wish to remove both the Master record as well as the Detail, then leave this box blank. To place the check mark, move your mouse cursor to this box & left-click your mouse one time or Tab to this box and press the space bar on your keyboard.

[ Begin ] Press this button to begin the process of removing the jobs as selected. The current job number being removed and the total jobs removed are displayed in the window. When this process is finished, the [OK] button will become active.

[ Cancel ] Press this button to close this window without removing any jobs. This button is only active before you press the [Begin] button.

[ Current Job ] This is an informational field only. As the system is removing the jobs selected, it will tell you which job is currently being removed. NOTE: You cannot edit the information in this field.

[ Jobs Removed ] This is an informational field only. After the system finishes the process of removing the jobs selected for removal, it will tell you the total number of jobs that were removed in this field. NOTE: You cannot edit the information in this field.

[ OK] This button will become active only after the Remove Old Jobs process has completed. When this button is active, either press the Enter key or move your mouse cursor to the [OK] button and left-click your mouse one time on the [OK] button to close this window and return to the menu.

[ Help ] Press this button (if available) or the F1 key to view the Help text for this window.
