Tariff Mileage File Maintenance

This option is used to modify or to print the Derived Mileage File. This file is automatically maintained by the Shipment Registration Weights/Miles Tab. However, if a mileage needs to be changed, this option must be used to change them.

The Derived Mileage Lookup Database contains point to point mileages for various Cities and States. This file is Derived from the actual shipments which you register into the system. Once a given origin City-State and destination City-State is used, the mileage can be added from within the Weight/Miles Tab in the program. Once this mileage has been added, it will be remembered for all subsequent shipments between that origin-destination location.

Since the Household Goods Mileage Guide is copyrighted, these mileages can not be distributed in any form, electronic or otherwise by any third party. However, an end-user may maintain a sub-set of this data which is pertinent to his business as long as the end-user company has subscribed to the Mileage Guide, which all shipping companies which use this guide have already done. This file will continue to grow each time that you enter new City-State points, but it can only be edited by using this option.

From State: This is a locator field. Just type in the two character Postal Code for the state and the display will jump to this section of the file. If this field is highlighted, then press the Tab Key to display the closest match to the state in the display table.

[ Insert ] Press this button to add a new Origin-Destination City-State combination to the file. See Update Derived Mileage File

[ Change ] Press this button to change the mileage for the highlighted Origin-Destination City-State combination. If any of the other information needs to be changed, then you must first delete the original entry and then use the Insert button to add the corrected entry. See Update Derived Mileage File

[ Delete ] Press this button to remove the highlighted entry from the Derived Mileage File. See Update Derived Mileage File

[ Print Listing ] Press this button to produce a printed listing of the complete Derived Mileage File.

[ Close ] Press this button to return to the menu.
